Kittitian-born Talk Show host honoured in New York

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, APRIL 5TH2012 (CUOPM) – A national of St. Kitts and Nevis, who was recently honoured in New York, has been congratulated by the Federation’s Prime Minister, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.

Kittitian-born Ms. Avril Francis, a Kittitian radio and television personality was honoured in celebration of Women’s History Month by the Negro Business Women of America.

“We are all proud of you Avril for this achievement,” said Prime Minister Douglas during his call-in radio programme “Ask the Prime Minister” on Tuesday.

Ms. Francis was born in the village of St. Paul’s, the same birthplace of the Federation’s First National Hero and First Premier, the Right Excellent Sir Robert L. Bradshaw and also the birthplace of Prime Minister Douglas.

Called the Caribbean Queen of Talk Radio in New York, Ms. Francis hosts programmes on WVIP 93.5 every Monday at 9 P.M. and Bronxnet Cable TV at 10 P.M.
