Kittitian graduates with Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree

Dr. Teresa “Rasheda” Johnson

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 16TH 2011 (CUOPM) – Teresa “Rasheeda” Johnson of Basseterre, St. Kitts graduated on June 4, 2011 from the Edward Via a College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Blacksburg, Virginia with the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (D.O.).

Dr. Johnson received her undergraduate degree in Biomolecular Science from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut.

She completed four years of an intense medical school coursework, which included two years of biomedical courses, two years of clinical experiences at hospitals including and over 200 hours of osteopathic manipulative medicine training.

Teresa will complete a residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. Teresa plans to practice Family Medicine in Virginia.

She is a graduate of Newtown Primary School, now the Tucker-Clarke Primary School and the Basseterre High School.

Dr. Johnson is the daughter of Mr. Leonard Harris Jr. of Ponds Pasture and Ms. Claudette Connor of Belmont Estate, St. Pauls and the great granddaughter of Millicent Connor also of St. Paul’s.

She would like to thank God and anyone who ever inspired and encouraged her. Of special mention are the Brandy family in Bricklin, Nevis, the Stevens family, Patrick and Yvette White, Glen and Rosel Pemberton, Sam and Iana Franks, Gerald “Kelvis” Connor, Glendine “Rosie” Browne and all of her teachers who expected nothing but excellence from her.

The Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis congratulate Dr. Johnson and her parents on her achievement and wish her continued success.
