Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 5th, 2012 – Hard work of the youth brings great reward to the church and the elderly on St. Kitts. A lesson in charity is what the young will take with them throughout their lives. Lady Hulda Lawrence, on behalf of the pupils of the Lawrence School of Music, recently donated EC$10,000 to the St. Peter’s Anglican Church.
The funds were raised from the 30th annual Pianoforte Concert held in July of 2011 during which the students showcased their talents to an appreciative audience of family and friends. The donation was received by Rev. Canon Isaiah Phillip, the Parish Priest, on behalf of the Church.
In accepting the gift, Rev. Canon Phillip expressed thanks to the Music School for its generous gift, and wished the students and their teacher continued blessings in their future endeavours.
Meanwhile the Music School continues its monthly Food Programme to needy elderly persons in the community. Lady Lawrence, members of the concert organizing committee, as well as the students are working hard to prepare for the 31st annual Pianoforte Concert which will be held on Tuesday, July 10th, at 7.30 p.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church.
The proceeds will go to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church. The Music School thanks all who have supported their efforts in the past and looks forward to continued patronage in the future.
