Levi Makes His Exit

Levi James was royally saluted for his contributions to the Villa Int Football club; the Nevis Football Association and indeed Football as a whole on the island of Nevis.

At a grand luncheon and farewell ceremony held at Reviere’s house restaurant on Thursday 8th May, President of the Nevis Football Association, George BRIGO Meade praised James for his outstanding work with the Nevis Football Association. He referred to him as the very efficient ‘STATS MAN.’

Also speaking at the ceremony was Junior Minister of Sports, Hon Hazel Brandy-Williams who referred to James as a ‘jack of all trades.’  She congratulated him on his efforts to move Nevis Football forward and wished him every success in his new endeavours as he picks up residence in Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.

Mr. Jack, the President of the Villa Int club spoke to the God faring nature of James and his efficiency in completing tasks.

James for his part, noted that he was ‘not expecting all of this,’ but expressed appreciation at the gesture.  He noted that his parents and especially his Mom had taught him that once something was worth doing, ‘it was worth doing well’ and indicated that he had allowed that philosophy to guide his life.

He was presented with a plaque by Hon Hazel Brandy-Williams on behalf of the Nevis Football Association and a ‘small but expensive’ gift from the Villa International Club.

President Meade also used the opportunity to present FIFA Referees’ Assessor, Malcolm Ramsey with a number of commemorative plaques for the hard working referees on Nevis, who had performed creditably during the recently concluded 2013/2014 league.

During the luncheon, there were also general discussions as to the way forward for the Nevis Football Association and President Meade thanked the Minister of Sports and the Nevis Island Administration for their tremendous support during the last league.
