LIAT passengers impacted by new security measures at Grantley Adams International Airport

LIAT at GAIA

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, October 04, 2012 – LIAT wishes to advise its customers of new security measures in effect at Gate No. 9 (the Regional Lounge) of the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) Inc. in Barbados.

The GAIA Inc. now requires that all passengers entering the Regional Lounge be re-screened on entry.

This means that in addition to in-transit passengers who are usually screened on entering the Regional Lounge, those passengers who were screened on entry to the main terminal building must now be re-screened on entry to the Regional Lounge.

LIAT wishes to make it clear to customers that this re-screening process is a requirement of the GAIA Inc.

The GAIA Inc. has relocated the scanner to main entrance door of the lounge so that all passengers can be screened/scanned on entry. They have advised that the relocation is temporary.

All persons leaving the Regional Lounge will also be required to be re-screened on re-entry.

In light of the new security measures, passengers are advised to make their way to Gate No. 9 well ahead of their boarding time to go through the screening process.
