LICA gets new president
The Leeward Islands Cricket Board held its annual general meeting in Anguilla on Saturday 14th December. Former President of the Association, Gregory Shillingford did not contest the elections and it therefore means that LICA now has a brand new President.
A press release by Derrick Nicolas reads thus:
(Press Release) — The Valley, Anguilla – The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association was held on Saturday, 14th December, 2013 in The Valley, Anguilla.
The meeting considered several matters including reports from its various subcommittees as well as the financial report of the organization. Following the conclusion of those matters, the meeting proceeded to elect a new executive to administer the affairs of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association for the next two (2) years.
The following are the results of the Election of Officers:

President: Auckland Hector
Vice President: Ralph Hodge
WICB Representative: Enoch Lewis
The immediate past president, Gregory Shillingford, did not contest for the post he previously held. Meanwhile, the Board thanked Mr. Shillingford for his contributions to Leeward Islands’ cricket over the years and wished him well in his future endeavors.
The newly elected President thanked the members for their overwhelming support. He also paid homage to his predecessor. Mr. Hector said that his Board will not be a “one man Board” but rather “one that seeks to involve all”. Mr. Hector stressed the need to plan well in advance for the various tournaments that LICA has to either undertake or provide teams.
While acknowledging that the job ahead will be tough, Mr. Hector also lamented the urgent need to attract sponsorship in order to allow LICA to have the ability to put on the various programs. Mr. Hector also stressed the need for member territories to strengthen their administrative capacities.’
