Lighting at Independence Square

The Independence Square has been made more aesthetically pleasing with the installation of coloured lights for the Christmas season.

Quoting the Bible, Minister of Public Infrastructure Hon. Ian Liburd said light has significant meaning.

He said although the lights were installed ahead of time, they were only to be switched on following the lighting of the Christmas tree at the square.

Minister Liburd said plans are in place to add more lighting in the square following concerns raised about the area being too dark.

The installation of Christmas lights in The Square forms part of an island wide project in which festive lights are being hung in communities across the island.
