Lions Club Elderly Scenic Railway Tour

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 10, 2019 (ZIZ News): Members of the St. Kitts (Basseterre) Lions Club treated a group of 40 elders to a Scenic Railway tour around St. Kitts on Tuesday to mark the 40th anniversary of the club.
The 40 elders were selected from each village across St. Kitts and President of the St. Kitts Basseterre Lions Club, Charmaine Pemberton explained why 40 persons were selected.
“We are celebrating 40 years of Lionism in St. Kitts so that is the reason why we chose 40 elderly persons to take them on a tour, a Scenic Railway tour.”
The tour started in buses and was completed on the Scenic Railway’s train. During the tour they were treated to snack boxes containing sandwiches and bottled water.
The Lions Club president also explained why an elderly group was chosen for this tour.
“We prefer to reach out to the elderly and show them that somebody care for them still so that is exactly why we chose the elderly.”
The 40th Anniversary celebrations are being celebrated under the theme, “Lions on the Move”
