Man Fatally Wounded, Police Actively Search For Suspect

ZIZ News—8th July, 2013–On Sunday 7th July 2013 at about 2:45 am, officers of the Frigate bay Police Station, Crime Scene Unit, The Violent Crime Unit, and other police officers responded to a report of a Stabbing incident on the Strip.

Initial investigation revealed that 19 year old Collin Merchant was fatally wounded. Police are actively searching for person of interest.

Anyone who has any information pertaining to this incident is ask to call the Violent Crime Unit at 465-2241 Ext. 230, the nearest police station, or, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, remember your information will be confidential and you may be eligible to receive a reward.

In other news, Officers of the CID and the Crime Scene Unit responded to two (2) incidents of Wounding which left two (2) males hospitalised, on Friday 5th July 2013.

These incidents took place at the Basseterre Bus and Ferry Terminal, and the corner of College Street and the Bay Road some time after 10:00 pm.

One person is currently in police custody assisting with the incident which occurred on the corner College Street and the Bay Road.
