Man found dead in Newtown

(ZIZ)– A Newtown man was found dead in his home on Friday.

Police were called to the scene after the body of Cecil Charles-Thomas was found in his Pitcairn Street home Friday afternoon.

Charles-Thomas, a Taxi Driver known to many as “Cap,” was 50 years old.

News that the deceased had committed suicide quickly spread across the island however, ZIZ News understands that initial police investigations showed no obvious signs of foul play or suicide.

Charles-Thomas is reportedly the father of 20-year-old Idalia Williams, who has been charged with the stabbing death of 19-year-old Kevon Gordon of St. Peter’s on Sunday.

An Autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
