Man shot in bar after candle light vigil
BASSETERRE, ST.KITTS, AUG 18 2011 – Police are investigating a shooting incident in Buckleys that has left one man dead and another injured.
Dead is 34 year old Leon Thompson of Buckleys Estate. According to reports, at about 10:30 on Wednesday night Thompson left a candle light vigil for David Thomas who was shot and killed a few days before.
Thompson entered a nearby bar, named Ground Zero. According to police reports a man wearing a dark hood entered the bar and shot Thompson in the head. He then chased after another man, 36 year old Mark Phillip and shot him in the right side of the chest.
Police say Phillip ran to the hospital where he is in stable condition.
Police visited the scene and processed the area for evidence.
No-one is in custody as yet but investigations are ongoing.
