Man stabs youth found having sex with 13-y-o daughter in Belize

Belmopan, Belize (CMC) — Police say they have charged a 37-year-old man who stabbed a 16-year-old boy whom he caught having sexual intercourse with his 13-year-old daughter late Monday.

Senior Superintendent Edward Broaster, the regional commander for the Eastern Division South, told reporters that the unidentified man had returned home to find the 16-year old having unlawful sexual intercourse with his daughter.

“Well, the offender in this case, who inflicted the stab wound, went home and found the minor having sex with his daughter who is a minor as well,” Broaster said, adding that the boy was stabbed twice to the navel area.

“He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (where) he was treated and released. The individual that did it has been detained and will be facing charges for damage to property as well as causing the wound to the young person,” Broaster said.

He also indicated that the 16-year-old would be charged with unlawful carnal knowledge.

“Both committed themselves and broke the law so both will be dealt with,” Broaster added.
