Massy United Donates Food Hampers To Salvation Army

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 22nd,  2020 (ZIZ News) Insurance company Massy United donated food hampers to the Salvation Army in a small handing over ceremony at the Salvation Army church on Tuesday.

Sales Manager at Massy United Insurance, Hadiya Mills said the donation forms part of the company’s spirit to serve the community initiative and give back especially to persons affected by the coronavirus.

“We know that today in 2020 with corona and everything that is happening in the economy, there’s lots going on and it’s been affecting around us near and far and Massy United Insurance as part of our efforts to give back to our community to the youth, to the elderly, to everyone we are today (December 22nd) donating some food hampers to the Salvation Army.”

The hampers were handed over to Major Roxroy Campbell of the Salvation Army.

He thanked Massy United for the donation and explained that the hampers will go to a number of other organizations as part of the Salvation Army’s Christmas effort.

“This is a continuation of our Christmas appeal, our Christmas effort that we have been engaged in for a couple of weeks since the third week of November and last week Friday we were privileged with the contribution of the public and business persons to give out 230 parcels, we partnered with the Ministry of Gender Affairs community service and with Ms. Wigley coming on board she was able to take some parcels to the far flung communities and we were able to distribute the rest in and around Basseterre so today we will be passing out some of these parcels to the Disabilities Association.”

Representative for the St. Kitts- Nevis Association Of Persons With Disabilities, Mary Nurse thanked the Salvation Army and Massy Insurance for the donation.

“I too want to join with Major who has always been instrumental in getting the disabled involved in everything that he is doing, Major we say thank you and to Massy Insurance we want to say a very special thank you…the disabled persons will be very happy for these parcels and we wish you all a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year and may you continue to strive in your insurance company.”

At the end of the ceremony the group joined together in singing a rendition of the song “We Wish You Merry Christmas”.
