Measures To Be Taken To Give Farmers Relief From Menacing Monkeys

(ZIZ News) — The government is taking measures to ensure that the monkey population in the Federation does not continue to be a menace to farmers and crops.

That’s according to Minister Of Agriculture Hon. Eugene Hamilton who outlined the ministry’s plan to reduce monkey activity, stating “One of the things that we will be embarking on is to plant at least 4 or 5 areas of sugar cane and the reason for that is the monkeys do love sugarcane and if they are attracted to the sugarcane that is grown then they will spend less time in the upland crops.”

Minister Hamilton also revealed that the ministry has embarked on a $140,000 programme this year to ensure the monkey population does not increase.
