Meditation for prisoners

ZIZ News—2nd August, 2013–The inmates at Her Majesty’s Prison are singing the praises of a unique rehabilitation project. Every other week Sister Alanna of the meditation centre visits her majesty’s prison to hold meditation sessions with the inmates. In each session Sister Alanna speaks to the men about finding inner peace and using techniques to deal with life’s difficulties.

She also speaks about tolerance, humility and cooperate. All in the hopes of helping the men live happier lives. One inmate, Denver Fyfield says the sessions has changed his outlook on life. Another prisoner urged the public to change how they look at prisoners.

The meditation sessions are part of the prison’s overall rehabilitation programme to prepare inmates for their return to society.
