Men encouraged to be proactive about penile issues

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 12, 2019 (ZIZ News): A local surgeon is urging men to be more proactive in addressing medical issues that are specific to their bodies.

In a recent episode of “Health Matters” on ZIZ radio, Dr. Joylette Woodley who represents the St. Kitts and Nevis Medical and Dental Association spoke about penile fractures.

Penile fractures occur when the sheath around the two top cylinders of the penis crack or break.

General surgeon, Dr. Woodley explains that it is uncommon but it exists and often goes unreported.

She urged that if it occurs persons are to seek medical attention as soon as possible.

She also explained that if it goes untreated it can lead to more complications such as erectile dysfunction.

“Health Matters” airs every Friday morning at 8:30 am -9:30 am on ZIZ radio during the Morning Show and it features various medical practioners from the St. Kitts and Nevis medical and dental association.
