Methodist Women’s League makes donation to JNF Hospital

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS (SKNIS – December 21, 2011): In a recent ceremony at the Administration Building of the Joseph N. France General Hospital, members of the Wesley Methodist Women’s League made a substantial donation of standing fans to the island’s primary health institution.

The Wesley Methodist Women’s League in St. Kitts is said to be one of the oldest of the church’s organization in the Caribbean and the Americas, and has been working to deepen the worship and witness of the Church. Among the activities are visits to hospitals, and through this, the League identified a need at the JNF General Hospital. League representative Ms. Mavis Payne said the members were very pleased to present the gift, as a means of showing love and care for others in need.

The gift was accepted by hospital Operations Manager Ms. Lornette Adams on behalf of the Ministry of Health and the hospital. She thanked the league for the “generous donation,” and assured the League members that the fans would be put to good use, including the care and comfort of patients.

Ms. Adams indicated that Government heavily subsidizes the cost of healthcare, and it is always appreciated when groups and organizations partner with the health institution.

Blessings on the donation and the doctors, nurses and staff of the J.N. France General Hospital was invoked by the Rev. Dr. Wycherley Gumbs, Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church in Saint Kitts.
