Microsoft 365 Launched In St.Kitts

ZIZ News — The federation of St. Kitts and Nevis made information technology industry history Wednesday with the launch of Microsoft Office 365, making it the first country in the OECS to take the technological leap.

The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis was approved on April 1st for Microsoft Office 365 which is a cloud based platform that offers access to various software solutions.

According to Microsoft Territory Manager, Jonathan Jagai, the selection of St. Kitts and Nevis for this international honour is as a result of the country’s extensive broadband infrastructure and Microsoft licence compliance by the government.

“These islands were selected because of not only the demand for services and cloud services, the quality and infrastructure of the internet in the island is a key piece of us being able to launch the service locally and so we did a lot of testing of services available locally,” he said.

The adoption of Microsoft Office 365 provides a number of direct benefits to the public, private sector and people of St. Kitts and Nevis in terms of enterprise-wide cost savings through the implementation of free voice over internet (VOIP) and other unified communications.
