Minister Hamilton receives football gear from Consulate of Italy

(ZIZ News) — Three football clubs in the Constituency 8 region will soon be receiving several pieces of football gear courtesy of the President of the Football Federation in Italy.

Constituency Representative, The Hon. Eugene Hamilton accepted the donations on behalf of the teams during a handing over ceremony on Thursday at Italy’s Vice Consulate on Victoria Road.

Minister Hamilton thanked Italy’s Vice Consul, Ernest Amory for his support in fulfilling this achievement.

“I’m here today to thank Honorary Vice Consul Amory for his role in assisting me in obtaining some football equipment, jerseys etc. to be able to supply three football teams in my constituency”, Minister Hamilton said.

Minister Hamilton explained that the Football Federation in Italy along with the Consul made the donation process as simple as possible.

“When I became the Minister, I approached him and said I have three first class teams in the competition, all three doing well and I would need to assist them with some football gear, Mr. Amory did not hesitate and so when I further went on to Italy, I met with the officials there who had known about the request that I made through Mr. Amory and we confirmed that they will be able to supply us with some gear”, the Minister explained.

Mr. Amory said he was more than happy to help and was certain that the donation would be greatly valued by the athletes.

“I am sure that your football teams would make good use of this equipment and I also would be happy to fulfill any other equipment that you request in the future”, Consul Amory stated.

The three teams benefitting from the donation are: The Flow 4G Cayon Football Club, SOL Island Auto Conaree Football Club, and The ELCO Ltd St. Peters Football Club.
