Minister of Sport Hon. Glenn Phillip congratulates SKN’s Sprint Icon, Kim Collins

ZIZ News…Aug 30 2011 – The Government of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis through the Minister of Sports has extended words of gratitude to Kim Collins on his excellent performance.

In an official release to the media, the Hon. Glen Phillip said, on behalf of the People and Government of the Federation of St. Kitts- Nevis, I wish to extend congratulations to the Federation’s Sprint Icon Mr. Kim Collins on winning the Bronze Medal at the Daegu 2011 World Championships.

This is Kim’s 8th straight participation at the World Championships; competing in an individual event. Having participated in 1995 with the St. Kitts and Nevis Relay Team (4×100); counting that relay would make his appearance in this year’s Championships his 9th.

The release continued, “I am especially thrilled for Kim because he is a shining example that that self esteem, hard work, and perseverance undoubtedly yield dividends not just for the individual athlete, but for all of human civilisations”.

The Sports Minister also commended President of the SKNOC, Mr. Alphonso Bridgewater and his Executive, SKNAAA President, Mr. Glen Jeffers and the rest of the SKNAAA Family for the planning and implementation done to support Kim in accomplishing this monumental task.

On this note, I want to once again join our Nation in acknowledging our Daegu, 2011 World Championships, Bronze Medal winning Sprint Icon Kim Collins for a job well done. May he continue to represent our Federation with Passion, Power and Pride on and off the track.
