During a recent address, the Minister of Health Hon Marcella Liburd says Primary School children are starting to show early signs of Heart Disease, Stroke, Cancer, Diabetes and Arthritis.

Minister Liburd said “when it is far easier and much more fashionable to eat fast food rather than a good home cooked meal and to sit behind our computers, laptops and Ipods for hours rather than move about; these choices inevitably lead to obesity and its associated complications.”

The Minister of Health is also reporting that fifteen percent of children and fifty percent of adults in our society are considered obese.

According to Minister Liburd, in these circumstances, the rates of breast and other cancers will escalate to disastrous proportions.
