Ministry of Tourism receives Donation from CIBC FirstCaribbean

Basseterre, 9th October, 2012 The Ministry of Tourism is the latest beneficiary of the CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank’s tangible support, under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.

This CIBC FirstCaribbean donation of EC$2,500.00 will go towards the cost of hosting the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s (CTO) upcoming “State of the Industry Conference” to be held here from October 10th-12th, 2012.

CIBC FirstCaribbean Country Manager, Ladesa James said that the bank was always seeking ways to make a real difference in the communities it served. She recognized tourism as the engine of growth for the region and commented that “through this donation the bank is contributing to the survival of the tourism sector.”

Over 250 delegates are attending the Conference, including several Ministers and Commissioners of Tourism.
