Ministry of Youth to Connect Young SKN Entrepreneurs with Brazilian Market

(ZIZ News) – Tuesday’s Youth Learn, Empower, Achieve and Develop Conference has been used as a forum to highlight new policies and plans that would enhance youth development and leadership skills.

Minister of Youth Empowerment, the Hon. Shawn Richards said his ministry has established a relationship with Brazil that would help to further expose St. Kitts and Nevis’ young entrepreneurs to the world of business and free enterprise.

He explained that the agreement was established between the St. Kitts-Nevis government and Brazil, solely to offer the youth the privilege of attaining more knowledge in this field.

“We have sort to expose our young entrepreneurs to the benefits of the Brazilian market as part of the Partial Scope Agreement,” he said, adding that “There is much that we can and will achieve as a region. Only if we are able to pair our next generation of business tycoons and social actors. There is no better place to set a course of action than here at today’s symposium Youth LEAD Conference.”

Additionally, the minister stated that his ministry understands the importance of investing in youth and would ensure that their feedback, creative ideas and business notions would be considered when implementing policies that address community issues.

He continued, “It is incumbent upon us as policy makers and directors to facilitate the development of innovation into emerging industries. That is why my ministry continues to operate within a framework which implements key fiscal policies that grants concession to small and micro businesses and ongoing incentives to start-ups in key sectors”
