Monthly Meeting of Engineers
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 23, 2013 – The St Kitts-Nevis Association of Professional Engineers will meet at the N.E.M.A Building in Nevis on Saturday 28th September 2013 at 11:00a.m.
In March 2013, the Association elected an Interim Committee to re-activate the Association and to organize for the holding of elections.
The Interim Body was also charged with reviewing the Constitution and lobbying the Federal Government to have the Act governing the Registration and practice of Engineering tabled in the National Assembly.
The Interim Body has successfully reviewed the existing Constitution which was adopted in the 1980’s.
It has also presented a Draft Act to the Ministry of Legal Affairs in an attempt to advance the process of laying the Act in the National Assembly.
The meeting in Nevis is therefore important, as the stage is set for the formal Elections, which will be held at the end of October 2013.
In addition, as part of the continuing education, a presentation will be made on the factors to be considered in the construction of a bridge between St Kitts-Nevus. The economic and social implications will also be examined.
Following the presentation, Engineers will make two site visits on the island of Nevis.
Members of the St Kitts-Nevis Association of Professional Engineers are therefore invited to attend this very important meeting in Nevis on the Saturday at 11a.m. at the N.E.M.A Building.
