More Joint Projects between SKN and Mexico

(ZIZ)– Mexico’s Ambassador to St Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Louis Manuel Lopez Moreno says that his country intends to continue working closely with the local government.

Ambassador Lopez-Moreno noted that he is in ongoing discussions with Prime Minister, the Right Hon. Dr Denzil Douglas and others to identify further areas of cooperation to include strengthening of the nation and the region’s security capabilities.

He said, “We are looking and talking with the Prime Minister, Dr. Denzil Douglas and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to find out some other areas of cooperation. The security is one of them. It is important for us Caribbean countries because we need to be sure that the region is safe and we are fighting crime.”

He indicated that support in the area of education through the provision of scholarships to Kittitians and Nevisians was also a priority in his discussions with the Prime Minister.

He added, “We are looking for some scholarships on the technical level and for the Bachelor’s degree because we believe it is very important to provide education in these areas especially (for work in tourism).”
