National Carnival Queen To Host Valentine Luncheon At Cardin Home

(ZIZ News) — The 2015-2016 National Carnival Queen, Orngel Erskine is preparing to host her first major event after winning the title in December 2015.

According to Erskine, the event, dubbed Valentine Luncheon aims to show love to the patrons at the Cardin Home.

The newly crowned queen said that she is quite excited about the upcoming event and thought that this year her Valentine’s Day should focus less on self and more on community service.

She also added that this was something she felt passionate about and had dreamt of doing for a long time. She said, “While I was in CFBC, we actually did a similar event to this and from there on I always had the initiative to do one on my own and now that I am the National Carnival Queen I’m now given the opportunity to host such a wonderful event”.

Erskine says her experience has been pleasant so far since the coronation and she intends to make great use of the skills that pageantry has taught her.

“Entering pageants is very challenging for a young lady. It teaches you so many skills. For example: communication skills, you develop your fashion sense and time management skills is one of the most important factor in pageantry and I decided to take those skills that I’ve learned with me in future”, she stated.

The Valentine Luncheon takes place at the Cardin Home on Saturday the 13th of February with multiple song and poetry renditions from the queen and the other National Carnival Queen Pageant contestants.
