Navigator of the Seas to visit St. Kitts for 2011/2012 cruise ship season

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, APRIL 20TH 2011 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts’ Port Zante will be on the itinerary of the 3,114-passenger Navigator of the Seas when it is repositioned to the Caribbean from the Mediterranean in November.

The ship’ new winter schedule out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will include a range of five- to nine-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries starting on Nov. 20.

Ports of call on the six-night sailings include Grand Cayman, the newly opened Historic Falmouth Port (Jamaica), and Labadee (Haiti). The eight-night sailing features calls at St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Labadee (Haiti).

Royal Caribbean International is a global cruise brand with 22 ships currently in service.

“We are responding to vacationers’ demand for more Caribbean options this coming winter (and) spring,” Royal Caribbean spokesman Harry Liu says of Navigator’s last-minute redeployment.

Navigator of the Seas is the fourth of Royal Caribbean International’ five Voyager-class cruise ships. She was once one of the largest in the fleet and still ranks among the largest passenger ships in the world. Constructed at Aker Finnyards in Turku, Finland, the ship measures 138,279 gross tons, has 15 decks and can carry 3,114 passengers, plus crew of 1213.

Other RCI ships visiting St. Kitts for the 2010/2011 cruise ship season are the 3114-passenger Adventure of the Seas, the 3114-passenger Explorer of the Seas and the 2,051-passenger, Serenade of the Seas.
