Nevis Over 35’s defeats England Forties Club

The Nevis over 35’s team set to play in the Luther Kelly over 35’s tournament this coming weekend, had another great practice match versus the England forties club on Sunday 24th November.

The match was played at the ET Willet Park and was a 25 overs per side encounter.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 114 for 5 in their allotted overs with Duncan Elder looking elegant with 51 retired out.

For the Nevis team, Curtis Morton Sr picked up 2 wickets for 25 runs; Elroy JIMBO David 1; Earl David 1 and Merlin Liburd 1.

The Nevis over 35’s got off to an aggressive start, compliments of  Merlin Liburd and Curtis Morton Sr who featured in an opening partnership of over 50 runs.

They got to the total in the 18th over —118 for 3 with Merlin Liburd finishing with a huge maximum over long on.

Merlin Liburd top scrod with 55 not out; Curtis Morton Sr got 34 and Brian Dyer 20 not out.

For the visitors, John Courtney bagged 3 for 17.

The Nevis over 35’s will participate in the Luther Kelly tournament this weekend in St.Maarten which will also feature St.Kitts; St.Maarten and Anguilla.
