Nevis police looking into shooting death

ZIZ News…May 15, 2013 — Officers of the Violent Crime Unit (VCU) are currently investigating the shooting death of Kishmoy Challenger 29yrs of Pond Hill. Initial investigation revealed that the deceased was at his work place on 14 May 2013 when he was shot several times in the upper portion of his body.

He was taken to the Alexandra Hospital where he underwent surgery. He succumbed to his injuries at about 5pm on 14th May 2013.

Meanwhile on Friday 10 May 2013 during the evening, the hunt for wanted man Raymond Pemberton came to an end when a joint task force of members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force apprehended the fugitive at New Road.

Raymond Pemberton was taken into police custody and later formally charged for the offence of Attempted Murder and remanded at Her Majesty’s Prison.

Commissioner of Police CG Walwyn takes this opportunity to thank all those persons who were instrumental in the success in the apprehension of Raymond Pemberton.

In other news, Dave Elroy Sweeney was captured as part of a joint effort with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.

Sweeney was wanted for drug trafficking and money laundering.
