Nevis set for Luther Kelly Tournament

Former Nevis and Leeward Islands opening batsman Merlin Liburd on Thursday confirmed that plans are pretty much in order for the Nevis over 35’s trip to St.Maarten next week, to participate in the Luther SHOT GUN Kelly over 35’s tournament.

According to Liburd the team is still being finalized as some persons are yet to confirm their availability but the majority of the players have already been identified.

He is however inviting the general public to make the trip via boat with the team as it will be a grand opportunity to cash in on the black Friday sale available in St.Maarten that weekend.

The boat is scheduled to leave Nevis on Friday 29th November at 1 am and leave St.Maarten at 11pm on Sunday 1st December.  Individuals interested in making the trip will only be required to pay $350.00 EC

There are four teams involved in this year’s tournament which will be played at the Carib Lumbar Ball Park: Nevis; St.Kitts; St.Maarten and Anguilla.

All of the teams will be featuring some of their past national players.  The Nevis team will have in its line up players of the caliber of Carl Tuckett; Merlin Liburd; Derrick Parry and Eustace Johnson.

The Nevis team will have a second practice match this coming Sunday 24th November at the ET Willet Park versus the touring England Forties club.

Match is scheduled to commence at 12.30 pm.
