Nevis Team warms up for Masters’ Tournament

(Sports Page)- The Nevis Masters’ squad continued their preparations for the upcoming Leeward Islands Masters’ tournament with a practice game on Sunday 25th May.

The match which was played at the ET Willet Park, saw the Wendell MICEY Wallace led team batting first and getting to 134 for 8 in 20 overs.

Vellie Maynard batted impressively to be not out on 30; former Nevis opening batsman, Cordell Walters scored 23; Malcolm Ramsey 14 and Elroy David 13.

For the Junior Mills led team, Patrick Newton bagged 3 wickets for 12 runs; Curtis Morton 2 for 20; Brian Dyer 1 for 12; Gerard TRINI Charles 1 for 18 and Teddy BLACKMAN Liburd 1 for 32

The Junior Mills team got to 122 for 7 when the 20 overs ran out. Brian Dyer topscored with 38; Eustace Johnson got 23 and Oneil Walters 22.

For the Wallace X1, Charles Hendrickson got 3 for 32; Vellie Maynard 2 for 18 and Frank Monzac 1 for 13.

The Wallace X1 won by 12 runs.
