Nevis Wins Two More Encounters In Li Under 19 Tournament

Sports Page—Monday 1st July 2013–Nevis emerged victors twice over, as they engaged the Montserrat team at the ET Willet Park over the weekend, as the Leeward Islands under 19 tournament continued.

On Saturday 29th June, Nevis batted first and scored 214 for 5 in 50 overs. Theron Bussue top scored with 43; Shelton Forbes 30; Irvawn challenger 19; Delroy Cornelius 17 and Sean Hanley 13.

For the Montserrat team, Daniel Smith got 3 wickets for 34 runs; Shaun Tuitt 2 for 32; Oliver Meade 2 for 46; Greenaway and Worrell Smith got 1 wicket each.

Montserrat in response could only muster 144 all out. Worrell Smith top scored with 34 and Shaun Tuitt got 19

Theron Bussue got 3 wickets for 14 runs; Bervis Burke 3 for 45 and Hakeem Harvey 2 for 15

Nevis winning by 70 runs.

In match two, played on Sunday 30th June at the same venue, Montserrat batted first and was in deep waters at 49 for 8, but the tail wagged sufficiently to get them to a much more respectable 86 all out in 29.5 overs. Sheldon Dubbery top scored with an aggressive 30 not out.

For the Nevis team, Theron Bussue bagged 3 for 20; Bervis Burke 2 for 13; Hakeem Harvey 2 for 22 and Ryani Ferguson got 1 for 11

Nevis secured victory, getting to 87 for 6 in 30.3 overs. Shelton Forbes was run out for 24 and Captain Dymon parries was not out on 17 at the end.

Shaun Tuitt bagged 3 for 20; Worrell Smith 2 for 30 and Daniel Smith 1 for 7

Nevis securing victory by 4 wickets.

St.Kitts will now engage Montserrat at the ET Willet Park on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd July.

Meanwhile, the Leeward Islands senior tournament will commence this coming Friday with Nevis taking on arch rivals St.Kitts at the ET Willet Park from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th July.
