They were part of a team of fifteen (15) athletes and four (4) officials that represented St. Kitts & Nevis, including Brittany Morton, Izaun Ward and Sadiki Tyson from Nevis and other athletes from St. Kitts.

17 year old Adrian Williams of the Gingerland Secondary School, competed in the Javelin for Under-18 Boys capturing the Gold Medal with his best throw of 68.41m. His other marks were 65.94m, 68.41m, 68.32m, FOUL, 60.91m, 65.27m, an excellent series. Adrian also broke the CAC Record for the 700gm implement of 61.81m set by Jamal Forde of Barbados on 16 July 2000 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, some 12 years ago. Adrian previously captured the Silver medal in the 2010 CAC Meet held in Santo Domingo with a distance of 57.25m.

16 year old Renika Daniel of the Charlestown Secondary School, competed in the 400m U-18 Girls and ran 56.20s in the semi-finals, placing 2nd in her heat with the second best time overall. In the finals, Renika captured the Bronze medal in 56.13s behind the Gold medalist, Tiffany James of Jamaica in 55.09s and Silver medalist, Tai-Adana Belle of Barbados in 55.92s. This is the first International medal for Renika Daniel who has shown much promise over the past two years. In the 2012 Carifta Games, Renika ran the 5th best time overall of 55.73s in the 400m semi-finals of the U-17 class before not medaling in the Finals with a time of 60:63s, partly due to having to run without her track shoes.

Adrian and Renika were recipients of the 2011 Sportsman and Sportswoman award. Congratulations from the Gladiators Track Club to our two sporting champions and we wish them continued success in the future.
