New Justice to Sit in SKN

HammerOfJusticeDZIZ News — Justice Marlene Carter has been appointed as Resident High Court Judge for the St. Christopher Circuit.

Justice Carter obtained her law degree in 1992 at the University of the West Indies.

Justice Carter attended the Hugh Wooding School of Law and was awarded her Legal Education Certificate in 1994.

Shortly thereafter, Justice Carter was called to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago.

During her career, Justice Carter, has served in numerous high profile positions including Criminal Crown Counsel in the Chambers of the Attorney General of the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Senior Crown Counsel in the Attorney General’s Chambers in the Cayman Islands.

In September 2013, Justice Carter was appointed as an Acting Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and assigned to St. Lucia where she presided in the Civil Jurisdiction until December 2013.

Justice Carter takes over from Justice Darshan Ramdhani.

The judgment for the ongoing boundaries case at the High Court is in reserve and has not been made public as yet.
