New Zealand/ Cricket Board XI match end in tame draw

TRELAWNY, Jamaica —The two-day practice match between a Jamaica Cricket Board XI and the touring New Zealand ended in a predictably tame draw at the Trelawny Multi-purpose stadium after the tourists used most of today’s second day for batting practice.

Led by an even 50 from BJ Watling and an unbeaten 43 from Luke Ronchi, New Zealand batted for most of the day to make 210 for 6 after Jamaica declared on 170 for nine, a lead of 58 on first innings just before lunch. New Zealand made 112-6 declared on Thursday’s first day.

Scores — New Zealand 112-6 (declared) and 210 for 6; Jamaica 170-9 (declared).

Spinner Odean Brown took three wickets for 55; Gavon Brown took two for 57 while Ramaal Lewis got the other wicket for 21 runs.
