Nicha B. Returns Home to Warm Reception at RLB Airport

(ZIZ News) – A highly enthused Nicha Byron, whose stage name is Nicha B, has returned to St. Kitts, after competing in the International Soca Monarch Semi-finals in Trinidad on Sunday 17th January.

Lots of cheers; a saxophone and African drum renditions of his very popular song “Can’t Wait”; hugs and well wishes from family members, friends and members of the Carnival Committee greeted the Kittitian soca artiste upon his arrival at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on Friday.

Although he did not advance to the final round of the International Soca contest, Nicha B. said the support he has received motivates him to work even harder.

Byron expressed how grateful he was to finally return home to his family and loved ones.

“I was just glad to be home honestly. I just wanted to come back home. We went for the show, and the show was over, we wait for the results, the results came back. We didn’t make it in unfortunately but then that’s how it go. So I just, I just really wanted to come back home. I was missing home,” the artiste said.

Nicha B.’s Manager, Phonse Rodney accompanied him on the journey to Trinidad and told ZIZ that “it was a phenomenal experience.”

“To be quite honest, there was a lot of preparation that went into this. We didn’t even expect some of the challenges and at the same time, some of the joys that we experienced at the soca semis. But the overall feeling is very phenomenal that’s the best way for me to describe it in one word,” he said.

Nicha B.’s sister, Julia Byron, who is also one of his managers, expressed admiration for him. This moved the singer to tears.

She also thanked the sponsors for their contribution.
