No-confidence motion to be made against local cricket boss

WilfordBillyHeaven-1Kingston, Jamaica — The turmoil at the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) has taken another turn.

OBSERVER ONLINE understands that a no-confidence motion is to be made against local cricket boss Wilford ‘Billy’ Heaven at the JCA’s annual general meeting, set for later this month.

A draft resolution was circulated yesterday, bearing the signature of St James Cricket Association president Cecil Fletcher and seconded by Gautam Kumaraswamy of Kensington Cricket Club.

The document said the members who signed had “lost confidence in the leadership” of Heaven among other reasons.

On Tuesday, the JCA board of directors voted 10-6 to support Barbadian Garner ahead of Jamaican incumbent Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron for the post of president of the West Indies Cricket Board.
