OAS Holds Youth Conference 2012 and related Exposition

The Organization of American States is convening the OAS Youth Conference 2012: “Youth in Action for Democracy and Entrepreneurship” at its Headquarters in Washington D.C., today, December 4, 2012.

Representing the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is the Honorable Glen Phillips, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information Technology, Communication, Sports and Post. The Minister is accompanied at the Conference by Ms. Patrice Harris, CARICOM Youth Ambassador in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

The Conference is organized by the organization’s Interdepartmental Working Group on Youth (IWGY) and the Office of the Assistant Secretary General, and it is sponsored by PepsiCo, the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and Google Argentina.

The Objective of the OAS Youth Conference are (1) to engage, dialogue, socialize and forge partnerships with youth and youth authorities in OAS activities; (2) to showcase current OAS Youth activities organized under two thematic areas: Youth and Democracy and Youth and Entrepreneurship and (3) to follow-up on OAS youth mandates.

Participants will include Youth Organizations, Youth in OAS Member States, OAS Interns, Universities and Academic Centres and OAS Member States, including Ministers and Highest Authorities on Youth, Youth Representatives in Member States and OAS Permanent Missions, based in Washington, D.C.
