One Hundred Footballs Donated

Sports Page — A significant donation of one hundred footballs was made at the Youth and Sports Department earlier this week.

Coordinator of the Youth Department, Ms Zahnela Claxton explained that the owners of the popular local restaurant known as ‘YATCHMAN’S GRILL,’ Mr. and Mrs. Greg and Evelyn Slagan had teamed up with a friend in the United States of America who owns ULTIMATE SOCCER ARENAS to procure the footballs.

She noted that the gift was timely because there was a lot of Football related activities upcoming. These include: the ASAP (After School Activity Program); Primary school Football league; Junior league and Street football.

Mr. Greg Slagan for his part, noted that this was the second time he was making such a donation and hinted to the fact that there will be more in the future. He thanked his friend at ULTIMATE SOCCER ARENAS for sending the balls and as he presented them to the coaches of the various schools, he wished them well and opined that one day, Nevis will get a few stars in the Football world cup.
