One Injured In Cayon Shooting

(ZIZ News) — Officers of the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) are investigating the circumstances that led to one person being shot, on Friday, at De Valley Pub in Cayon.

A police press release issued on Saturday stated that the shooting incident occurred at about 3:30 pm.

Initial investigations revealed that 26 year-old Tarpquel “Biggie” Burroughs of Lower Cayon was at the De Valley Pub, Cayon waiting to cut his hair when he was attacked by a lone masked gunman.

The release stated that Burroughs was able to evade his attacker. He ran to the Cayon Police Station where he made a report before being transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The unknown assailant was described as wearing dark clothing, with a red, gold and yellow tam affixed with fake dreadlocks.

The police are asking anyone with information pertaining to this incident to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 467-1886, the nearest police station, or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.
