One man held, and a person of interest sought in the Haynes Smith Village shooting
ZIZ News…June 2 2012 — The Criminal Investigation Department is making progress in the latest shooting incident on Friday night.
According to a police report issued by the Sergeant Stephen Hector, PRO, at about 9 pm on Friday night, two gunmen armed with firearms attacked persons who were at Damian Weekes shop at Haynes Smith Village.
As a result three persons received gun shot wounds namely Damian Weekes, Dion Holloman and Vernal Chumney.
The release stated that all three persons were admitted to the JNF General Hospital and are receiving medical treatment. Medical reports suggest that all three persons wounded are currently in stable condition at the Surgical Ward.
One person is in Police custody in connection with this incident.
According to the Public Relations Officer they are thankful for the support of the community thus far but wish to advise the general Public that they are currently listing publicly one Kirk Hobson of Fort Thomas Road alias Scotty as a PERSON OF INTEREST.
Kirk Hobson is considered by all Law enforcement Officials to be ARMED AND DANGEROUS. We therefore suggest strongly to you the general Public that anyone having any information regarding his whereabouts to contact The Police Headquarters at 465-2241 or The Police Station of easiest means to you.
This kind of reckless disregard for the peace within the Federation is not condoned by Commissioner C G Walwyn and as a result all Law Enforcement Agencies have been officially notified of the need to apprehend this person of interest. As such if he does not present himself to the POLICE by 6pm on Saturday 2nd of June 2012 an extensive Man Hunt will be launched.
We wish to advise the general public that it is a criminal offence to aid, abet, relieve, comfort or in any other way assist KirK Hobson in evading efforts of Law enforcement to bring him to Justice.
Sergeant Hector concluded by stating that their position is clear and their resolve is certain as they deploy all measures to ensure that the safety and security of the Federation and its citizens is maintained.
