Over 13,000 cruise passengers visited St. Kitts last week

Basseterre, St. Kitts (CUOPM) — Just over 13,000 cruise ship passengers visited St. Kitts last week.

According to figures from the Marine Division of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA), 13,338 cruise passengers were aboard five ships that docked at Port Zante.

On Monday 27th October, two Celebrity Cruise Lines ships graced berth at Port Zante. The Celebrity Reflections arrived from Portugal with 2,938 passengers and the Celebrity Summit arrived from St. Croix with 2,093.

On Wednesday 29th, the 3,006-passenger capacity Carnival Splendor, the sole ship of the Splendor class, arrived from St. Thomas with 2,888 passengers and a crew of 1150 and later departed for Antigua.

Thursday the 2,500-passenger Brilliance of the Seas arrived from Boston, Massachusetts with 2.083 passengers and a crew of 856.

On Friday, on its weekly visit, the 3,700-passenger Carnival Valor docked with 3,326 passengers and a crew of 1,123.

Most of the 13,328 passengers came ashore and went on sight-seeing tours in Basseterre and island wide via the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, buses or taxis. Scores also headed for the sea and sun bathing on the beaches, snorkelling, sailing, horseback riding and shopping.
