Over 21,000 cruise ship passengers visited St. Kitts this week

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MARCH 22ND 2013 (CUOPM) – The parade of cruise ships to St. Kitts’ Port Zante continued on Friday.

The Carnival Valor arrived from St. Lucia with 3,353 passengers and the Delphin with 361 passengers, bringing the number visiting for this week to a total 21,403 passengers from 10 ships.

On Thursday, the Adonia arrived with 643 and the Silver Cloud with 244 visitors.

8,896 passengers visited on Wednesday from two ships – the Independence of the Seas with 3,877 passengers and the Celebrity Reflection with 3,018 visitors.

Tuesday, the Thomson Dream with 1,510, the Celebrity Equinox with 2,846 and the Adventure of the Seas with 3,346 passengers – a total of 7,702 visitors.

The Celebrity Summit was the lone ship in on Monday with 2,204 passengers.

Most of the 21,403passengers came ashore and went on sight-seeing tours to places of interest in Basseterre and island wide via the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, buses or taxis. Hundreds went to Brimstone Hill, sea and sun bathing on the beaches, snorkeling, sailing to Nevis, horseback riding, golfing, casino gambling, shopping and biking while others took time to surf the internet and make contact with friends and family.

Eight cruise ships are scheduled to visit St. Kitts next week including the Brilliance of the Seas and the Carnival Valor.
