Parade day expected to showcase lots of colour

ZIZ News…Jan 1, 2011 – Parade day in St. Kitts is expected to be a kaleidoscope of colour as the various Carnival troupes showcase their wide array of costumes.
A number of folklore groups are expected to be part of the parade along with the some five Carnival troupes divided into a number of segments. This also include the Children’s Carnival that should be leading the parade this year.
A number of prizes will be distributed to the winners of the various segments including the King and Queen of the bands.
Judging points are located on the parade route where a number of spectators are expected to gather to get a good look at the troupes as they parade through the streets of Basseterre.
The leading bands Grand Masters, Nu Vybes, Small Axe and Kollision will be playing their road march tunes and providing the music for the troupes as they make their way into Basseterre from the Wigley Avenue.
