Parents urged to give full support to children preparing for Test of Standards

Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS) — Primary school students in St. Kitts and Nevis about to sit “Test of Standards” exams have been wished well by Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, who urged parents to give full support.

“Government would like to encourage parents and guardians to offer their fullest support to the children who will be taking these critical examinations”, he said, as he addressed the media during a press conference on Wednesday (May 27).

Prime Minister Harris said that over 3,000 students will take the exams in the Federation in a few weeks and he took time to challenge all pupils to do their best and to prepare for these key placement exams. “They must realize that a good education is a sure path to preferred opportunities,” he stressed.

Parents were admonished to invest the required time in helping their children study for the exams. “You may have to stay up late, you may have to curtail some of your own activities, however, we all know that no sacrifice is to great, given that your children’s test results will determine their placement as they continue their education,” the Prime Minister said.
