‘Pep Must Be Permanent’

ZIZ News…May 22, 2013 — The Government is looking to turn a temporary employment Programme into a more permanent solution.

The People Empowerment Programme (or PEP) initially set out to place persons with businesses for six months.

But Prime Minister Douglas says the government plans to make that placement permanent.

Permanent Secretary in The Ministry of Labour, Elvis Newton told ZIZ they will also provide support for self employed persons and once the PEP training sessions are over they will place help participants into businesses.
