Pesticide Awareness Week 2018 to Be Featured on Working for You on Wednesday, September 26

Pesticide Awareness Week 2018 in St. Kitts and Nevis, which runs from September 23-28, 2018, will be the topic of discussion on the weekly radio and television programme “Working For You” later today.

Director of the Department of Agriculture, Melvin James, Senior Environmental officer, June Hughes and regional agronomist at Caribbean Chemicals, Kennedy Paul are the featured guests who are expected to lead the dialogue.

The discussion will focus on the roles of pesticides to agriculture development, human health and improved standards of living. The ill effects of chemicals on health, environment, water and plants and chemical and non-chemical alternatives will be discussed.

Pesticide Awareness Week 2018 is being held under the theme: “increase food safety, reduce dependency on pesticide—adapt Integrated pest management”.

“Working for You” is carried live every Wednesday on ZIZ, WinnFM and Sugar City Rock from 1:30-3pm.
