Pesticide week winds down with film

ZIZ News–26th September, 2013–The Ministry of Agriculture’s Pesticide Week is on its final leg.

Jeanelle (Ginel) Kelly, Secretary and Registrar for the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board says so far, they’ve had a very successful pesticides awareness week.

The week is winding down with a documentary film done by the Global Environment Facility or GEF (JEFF) called “mission: Planet Detox”.

The showing of this film will be at the UWI open campus on Friday beginning at 6:30pm.

Following the film, organizers will entertain a panel discussion.

Teachers, Environmentalists, Medical Practitioners Health Care workers and the wider public are encouraged to come out and view the 35 minute Documentary.

The week began with the Minister of Agriculture giving an address, a Premier of Registration and Licensing Requirements Informational video and a Puerto Rican Facilitator conducted a workshop on the use and storage of pesticides in both St. Kitts and Nevis.

The theme governing the week is “Pesticides-Store Wise, Save Lives!”
