(ZIZ News) – The 32nd anniversary of St. Kitts and Nevis’ Independence will be celebrated under the theme “United in Building a Stronger Nation”.
Chairperson of the Independence 2015 Planning Committee, the Hon. Senator Wendy C. Phipps, says plans are progressing smoothly for the Independence 32 anniversary celebrations.
In a statement released on Thursday afternoon, she indicated that the committee is finalizing the official, month-long program.
Minister Phipps said, “Several sub-committees have also been activated to handle the direct responsibility for planning and execution of the major events such as the State Service, Independence Day Parade, Prime Minister’s Independence Lecture Series, youth activities, and the Community Beautification Awards.
Independence Day, September 19th, falls on a Saturday this year and according to Minister Phipps, the holiday will be observed that same day.
