Plans To Enhance National Security

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 13, 2020 (ZIZ News): The buildout of the national security agenda will be one of the priority areas during the government’s next five years.

That’s the word from prime minister Dr. The Hon Timothy Harris in a recent interview with ZIZ.

The Prime Minister said one of the key areas that will be addressed is the expansion of the CCTV programme.

“The CCTV programme has been very useful in helping the police to gather evidence. Evidence in the context of we are coming from a situation of a lesser number of persons willing to come forward to give evidence, we need an alternative pair of eyes and ears and the CCTV programme provides just that and has been very helpful in helping the police to crack a number of cases.

Prime Minister Harris noted that other national security areas to be addressed included a cyber-security network and public education surrounding national security programmes.
